St Paul's west steps

Top tips

The cathedral closes at 4.30pm but the steps stay open. Tour groups until about 6pm, then quiet. The floodlights reflect off the steps when they are wet.

Millennium Bridge, north end

Steps down from the bridge to the river path; the only lift is at the southern end. Busy until 10pm in summer, much quieter in winter.

Empty after 10pm on weekdays and all weekend, once the pub crowds go home. Covered, so the place to wait out heavy rain.
